Women’s Rights

Women’s rights refer to the legal, social, and economic entitlements and freedoms that promote gender equality and empower women. These rights encompass a range of issues including, but not limited to, the right to vote, the right to work, the right to education, reproductive rights, and protection against discrimination and violence. The movement for women’s rights seeks to address and rectify historical and systemic inequalities faced by women in various societies around the world. It advocates for equal access to opportunities, fair treatment under the law, and protection of women’s personal autonomy and bodily integrity. The term also encompasses the broader goals of achieving equitable representation of women in political and social spheres and ensuring their voices and experiences are acknowledged and valued. Women’s rights are often viewed as a fundamental aspect of human rights, emphasizing that all individuals, regardless of gender, should have the same rights and opportunities in society.
