Football

Football, known as soccer in some countries, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each on a rectangular field with a goal at each end. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting the ball into the opposing team’s goal. Players primarily use their feet to maneuver the ball, but can also use other parts of their body except for their arms and hands, which are restricted to goalkeepers within their penalty area. The game is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, maintained by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). Football is one of the most popular sports worldwide, celebrated for its simplicity, requiring minimal equipment and space, and fostering teamwork and strategy. The sport features major international competitions, including the FIFA World Cup and continental championships, drawing millions of spectators and participants globally.
