Shinty

Shinty is a team sport of Scottish origin, played primarily in the Highlands of Scotland. It is similar to field hockey and involves two teams competing to score goals by hitting a small ball with wooden sticks called camans. The game is traditionally played on grass and can have varying numbers of players, typically ranging from 10 to 12 per team in competitive matches. Shinty has a rich cultural history and is governed by the Camanachd Association, which organizes leagues and tournaments. The sport emphasizes skill, teamwork, and physical endurance, and is closely associated with Scottish heritage.
