шинті

The term “шинті” (shinty) refers to a traditional Scottish game similar to hockey. Played primarily in the Highlands of Scotland, it involves two teams using curved sticks (called camans) to hit a ball (shinty ball) into the opposing team’s goal. Shinty has its roots in ancient Celtic games and is characterized by its fast pace, physicality, and the skill required to control the ball and navigate the playing field. The game typically features 12 players on each team and is played on grass pitches. Shinty is governed by the Camanachd Association and has a rich cultural heritage, often associated with community events and local rivalries.
